Job Description
GPS is Hiring: Metal Fabricator / Hardware Installer – Lugoff, SC Our client, a well-established machine shop serving Otis, TICO Terminals, Hyster Materials, and more, is expanding! Why You’ll Love Working Here:
- Competitive pay: $17/hr – $20/hr depending on experience
- Monday–Friday schedule: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM with a one-hour lunch
- Temp-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time employment
- Potential for OT, rare weekend work
- Hands-on experience with metal fabrication machinery and tools
- Collaborative, team-oriented environment, cross-training
- BCBS medical, dental, vision (eligible first of month, after 30 days), AD&D insurance
- 401(k): fully vested after 90 days, 3% match at 100%, additional 2% match at 50%
- PTO: 24 hours after 90 days, 64 hours at 1-year anniversary, 8 paid holidays
- Monthly company lunches (spring–fall)
- $60 boot allowance after 1 year, uniforms provided by Cintas at no cost
- Install hardware into metal parts per blueprint specifications using PEM machines or hand tools (e.g., rib nut gun)
- Adjust PEM machine pressure for optimal quality
- Inspect and clean equipment daily to ensure quality
- Document and clock jobs, including quality checks
- Load, unload, and palletize parts, label and inventory hardware
- Follow quality processes and policies, including peer checks and inspections
- Train other hardware installers and cross-train on additional machines
- Prior machine shop experience preferred
- Forklift and overhead crane experience is a plus
- Proficiency in basic math, including fractions and decimals
- Blueprint reading and computer skills (Profitfab)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Perform physical tasks: standing, walking, lifting (up to 30 lbs), and reaching
- Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled warehouse with high noise levels
- Occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
