Job Description
GPS is hiring a Shipping & Receiving Coordinator for a chemical processing company in Columbia, SC. Why You Should Apply

- Pay Rate: $20-$24 per hour
- Shift Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
- Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off
- Growth Opportunity: Potential for advancement within the company and training in DOT hazmat regulations
- Verify and keep records of incoming and outgoing shipments
- Store, organize, and inventory all materials in the warehouse
- Operate lift trucks or material handling devices to convey materials
- Use manual banding tools, drum handling devices, and dock boards
- Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments
- Reject and report damaged items and record shortages
- Maintain an adequate inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Follow DOT/Hazardous Materials regulations
- Prepare totes, pallets, drums, and overseas containers for shipment
- Schedule pickups with the carrier listed in customer orders.
- Perform quarterly inventory/cycle counting
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area
- Education:
- Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Minimum: 2 years of shipping experience and forklift operation
- Preferred: 3-5 years of experience with databases for product location and FIFO shipping
- Certifications:
- Forklift license
- Other Skills:
- Knowledge of DOT and Hazmat regulations (preferred)
